In order to recruit more soldiers for their cause, Irving and his party decide to deliver a speech to the citizens of Highridge, and rouse the people against King Varic using his numerous broken oaths. Irving delivers his speech at Highridge, but is quickly chased down by loyalist to the Delian crown. After a short skirmish, Irving and his party are able to escape Highridge with more soldiers than they went in with.
As they prepare to leave, an Undead Soldier greets Irving's party, and tells them that Esme, Irving's mother, is being held at Arrogance's Peak by Akmenos. Irving and party are given an ultimatum of going to arrogance's peak in under 7 days, otherwise Esme will be killed.
