Chapter 1: Journey Afoot is a chapter in Dark Deity.
Story
Dark Deity begins with Irving and his friends Maren, Garrick, and Alden facing off against Sterling in the Brookstead Academy trials.
After defeating Sterling, Irving and his friends are congratulated on their victory in the Brookstead Trials. However,Sterling bears grave news, and announces after the trial that King Varic of Delia has drafted the entirety of Brookstead Academy into his army for the war effort. With no other choice, Headmaster Galen relinquishes the students of Brookstead to Varic, including Irving, Maren, Garrick, and Alden.
