The scholars of Irving's group do some research into Akmenos' staff, and discover that it is able to anchor and contain souls with its' magic. Thousands of souls Akmenos has captured for necromancy writhe in pain, and Elias is desperately trying to free them all. Meanwhile on the war front, Alexa advises the party to capture Redhill, as capturing Redhill would cut off many trade routes to King Varic and supply the army with food. After a bit of discussion, the party decides to capture Redhill and it's newly built fortress, in order to deal a blow to Varic and also appeal to the citizenry of Redhill.
After capturing Redhill, party members such as Rose and Benji go off to visit their families and appreciate their victory.
