After defeating Varic, Irving's entire party is shifted into the Astral Plane, along with the entirety of Sojourn's spire. Using the transitory state that the spire is in, the party will finally be able to enter the staff and defeat Akmenos once and for all. After entering the staff and defeating the necromancer Akmenos, the party is relieved he'll never be able to torture another soul again.
