Chapter 2: Desperate Defense is a chapter in Dark Deity.
Story
This chapter begins with Headmaster Galen formally conscripting the entirety of Brookstead academy under King Varic's orders. As graduates themselves, Irving, Maren, Garrick, and Alden are all thrust into the war effort. Irving and his fellow students are placed under the command of Lincoln and Bianca, two higher ranking officers in the Delian military. The party soon sets off for Duskwater in order to recruit more soldiers for Varic's army. At Duskwater, the barmaid Cia and her friend Elias decide to enlist in the army, and Cia goes to pack her belongings. However, Irving's party must fight their way out of Duskwater Inn when a band of bandits suddenly emerges.
With the help of Lincoln and Bianca, the bandits are soon dealt with. But after discovering that the bandits had a larger base north of town, Lincoln decides to eliminate the bandits at their source.
