Classes are split up into Class Trees, of which there are 6.
Each Class Tree contains 9 classes, 1 Tier 1, 4 Tier 2s, and 4 Tier 3s. Tier 1 Classes have 1 skill, and Tier 2 and 3 each have 2 skills. Added with each character's Personal Skill, Tier 3 units will have 6 skills in all. Even if you obtain a character that isn't ever in its Tier 1 class, they will always have their Class Tree Skill.
