Monroe

Background
Monroe is the son of Conn Val'Burin, a well respected but little liked Duke in the Delian court. Monroe grew up in excessive luxury, developing a hefty, if not entirely unearned, ego. At 15, Monroe's magical capabilities manifested in an abnormally aggressive way, leaving his private tutor with horrific burns. Since this awakening, the court has slowly adjusted to the reality that soon, when Conn Val'Burin passes, Monroe will be a force to be reckoned with. His peers often give him a wide berth, as rumors have spread of a ruthless temper and power both monetary and magical to back it up.
In Gameplay
On a typical playthrough Monroe is recruited about midway through the story and due to his personal skill, high aptitudes and powerful class tree he is a formidable unit at the onset and remains that way throughout the game. Born Heir provides a tremendous increase to Monroe's HP and this makes him one of the bulkiest units in the game if capitalized on. This makes Mastery more important for Monroe than arguably any other character and makes the Arcanist and Wizard classes especially advantageous for him; although the uniqueness of his design will undoubtedly have many more viable strategies than merely these.
